Interesting bird conversation

I want to get this down while it’s fresh in my mind, because it’s astonishing. The following conversation took place between my bird, Phoenix, and I just a few minutes ago.

Phoenix Hello! Phoenix good bird, Phoenix wants cracker. Good cracker. Good.
Scott *gives Phoenix a bird treat* Here ya go! Cracker!
Phoenix Good. mumblemumble Cracker good. Phoenix pretty bird mumblemumblemumble
Scott What? Pretty bird what?
Phoenix mumblemumble Phoenix birdy mumblemumble no biting, no biting, good bird, no, no no.
Scott What, Phoenix? What did Phoenix say?
Phoenix *LOUD squawk* HUSH! HUSH! Phoenix talk to PHOENIX! HUSH!
Scott Uhhh…OK.

  1. I have to say, Scott, that that sounds a more intelligent conversation than a few I’ve had today!

  2. Scott You have an alien. Beware. Jettison! Spooky. See AOJ for talking to animals. Is it all around us?

  3. Could have been worse – Phoenix could have had an imaginary friend! Talking to yourself is quite normal, I do it all the time…!!!

  4. great bird. i’d wear it on my shoulder!

  5. I replied on your other site (livejournal) on the entry regarding Torie Snelgrove. I noticed your site “moved” here, so i thought i’d let u know i left it there! 🙂

  6. Hiyo Scott!

I’ve been reading for quite awhile without posting. Hope you don’t mind. Good stuff on the parrot, I can’t figure out what the one I have downstairs is saying half the time, but it sounds familiar.

Also.. I just happened to pull up your webcam page a few moments ago. Not sure if you’ve realized it, but someone has changed your appearance quite a bit from the last time I saw you! Definitely a different look, looks good!

Anyways.. just wanted to say howdy. So, howdy.
    Jason
