My previous blog seems to have generated a near-record number of comments, and the speculation has really been entertaining! Thank you all for your very positive comments.
To relieve your suspense, I should tell you what’s behind the continuing smiles. I’ve got a very special new friend. She stumbled upon my blog one day, apparently searching for information on pistachios. One might say she searched for a nut, and found one! In any case, she found my blog interesting, and fortunately, I happened to be online when she decided to say hello.
We’ve been chatting quite a lot, getting to know each other, and I must admit to being quite captivated. She’s a very private person, and I don’t want to make her uncomfortable by posting too much here, but I hope to be able to introduce her to all of you very soon.
On a more unhappy note, I must share that Tony seems to have taken a turn for the worse.
He’s been lazier than usual for the last day or two, but he’s always had his lazy days. However, last night when I went to give him his medication before bed, he seemed listless and short of breath. I kept him close by all night, and found myself waking up every hour or two to check on him.
He had a big meal this morning and seems generally comfortable. He’s not in a crisis, but I’m obviously concerned with the shortness of breath, which might mean his hematocrit’s gone back down. I’m now trying to arrange for him to be seen by a vet today, as soon as possible.
Let me pass along my very best wishes to Illusio, who will be leaving tomorrow for her visit to the UK. Folks across the pond, take good care of this gal, she is, as we say in the south, “good people”.

Yay! You deserve some happiness Scott! Really happy for you!
Hope everything goes OK at the vets for Tony, keeping you both in my thoughts.

It’ll be a sad day in cat-dom. Good luck with your new friendship. The internet can do marvellous things for communication. You certainly won’t be the first to have met your love across the ether.
BTW, your blog meets the criteria for my work to ban it. Well done, mate;-)

I thought Titch was going rapidly downhill recently, but he rallied again & is holding his own at the moment. Ear tickles to Tony! And congrats on the reason for smiling. May you continue to smile for a long time.
